Edilio Soares de Paula is a third generation coffee grower and runs the family farm with his two siblings and parents, Lourival and Nilceia.
Sitio Coqueiral is located at the small town of Brejetuba, at this farm they take advantage of the different growing times of each of the varietals they cultivate, spreading the harvest period throughout the year, breaking up their income period as well as diminishing eventual climate change impact. The varieties are chosen to assist in productivity, but also soil sustainability. Edilio and his wife Juliana celebrate the fact they are planting new coffee trees of the Catucaí varietal with the profits of one of the lots they sold to Australia.
The lot would have made less money on their local market, but as it was bought by an Australian customer, they were able to make a better profit, leading to their purchase of more land to plant new trees.
This pulped natural coffee features notes of citrus and baking spices, and is available as a single origin, or in our Seasonal Blend.
