Meet b3 Partner: Scotty and Beth from Manna McLaren Vale
Nestled in the heart of Adelaide’s wine region of McLaren Vale, Manna McLaren Vale has quickly become a known café amongst locals and visitors alike. Owners Scotty and Beth, and their vibrant team are passionate about community and creating a space for people of all ages to come and enjoy quality coffee, and tasty food made with seasonal and local ingredients.
Manna McLaren Vale has been brewing and retailing b3 Coffee since they opened in July 2020. As valued partners of ours, we asked Scotty and Beth to tell us a little more about them.
What’s the story behind the name Manna McLaren Vale and what was your vision when you began?
Manna means food from Heaven, and comes from a story in the Bible about supernatural provision. Our vision has always been to create an inviting space for friends and family to connect with one another, and enjoy quality coffee, food, and time (in equal measure).
What did you both do before opening up Manna McLaren Vale?
Scott is a Baker and a Butcher by trade (insert candle stick maker joke here). He also turned his dual cab Ute into a coffee van for a stage, but opening a cafe has always been the dream. Beth works in marketing as a website copywriter.
What do you love about your customers and having a café in McLaren Vale?
The real connections and friendships we’ve made! There’s something special about seeing people multiple times a week, swapping stories, and cheering them on from behind the machine. The best part is that it goes both ways, and they’ve been there to celebrate our big moments too, through lockdowns, weddings, new babies and more.
Do you have a favourite memory from the last few years?
Winning the Onkaparinga Business Awards Best Cafe in 2021 was a really special moment. After an intense couple years of lockdowns and learning, it was a nice boost for us and our team. We felt the love and all the warm fuzzies.
Where would you like to see Manna in five years’ time?
We’re just excited to see our fave town of McLaren Vale filling up with people, events, tourists, new businesses and more! We love being a part of this community and hope to continue to be a special place to connect, eat and drink for years to come.
How do you enjoy your coffee at home?
Scotty can’t go past a V60 pour over with b3’s Roasters Pick filter! Beth takes a double shot latte with almond milk (Alternative Dairy Co always). Noah’s excited for his first babycino very soon!
